ITIM Trauma Guidelines

The Adult Trauma Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) is a major project for NSW ITIM and forms Part 2 of the NSW State Trauma Plan.

The main focus of the CPG project is the transferring of evidence-based medicine into clinical practice where it can be used for making decisions about appropriate care of specific injuries. The lack of steadfast approaches to injury management and the culmination of trauma detriment (both in terms of disability and health care cost) have highlighted the need for CPG's. The aim of the CPG's is to improve the outcomes of trauma patients by neatly summarising and packaging all the high quality and relevant information into a usable document to allow clinicians to deliver timely and appropriate care consistently. More information on the project is available in the Project Background section.
